Charles Poncin, violin – 1917

Charles Poncin, born in Temploux (province of Namur), on 29/08/1854 and died in Brussels on 10/03/1933. He worked in Paris for 5 years at the renowned piano maker Erard. Then he moved to Brussels at the age of 25 and trained as violin maker with Joseph Marchand “Meilleur ouvrier” in the workshop Mougenot. In 1908, he started his own business in Brussels and produced about forty instruments, he was also a careful and skilful repairer.
